Dining on a budget?

Ever find yourself trying to justify spending an excessive amount of money on dinner? It's like as soon as you get to the restaurant and graze that menu, all common sense is lost, as your stomach grows larger than the actual money in your pockets. And yes, that food might taste good in the moment, but the broke student in me is going to realize that i just spent $70 on dinner and drinks, only to be hungry again in the next 30 minutes. Of course, you can only imagine my excitement when i recently discovered a way to enjoy a delicious steak, lobster tail and my occasional happy juice, without completely breaking the piggy bank and its name is Winterlicious.

Winterlicious made its way to the city of Toronto on January 26th and ended the first week of February, but it was fabulous! I mean, you had three course delectable meals at an exceptional prix fixe price, that didn't leave you completely broke. This year more than 200 restaurants actually took part in the winter festivities, where they offered mouth watering meals, us foodies could happily indulge in, and boy did i find myself indulging.

I ended up in downtown Toronto at the Canyon Creek off Front St, where they offered prix fixe dinner menus at only $33. They gave you your choice soup, followed by your main course meal and then lastly a sweet desert, making sure you left their restaurant on a full stomach. Surprisingly, the restaurant was quiet, which added to its overall aesthetics. The dim lighting, neutral colours and calming atmosphere made the food taste all that much better! The great thing about Canyon Creek is that although Winterlicious is no longer available, they actually offer a similar every day 3 course meal deal at only $38, which is only a 5 dollar difference from their Winterlicious promo.I highly suggest checking it out, because this is one meal you won't need to justify spending money on.
